Who we are
Chip Route House publishes comparisons of online casino brands licensed for Great Britain, at chiproutehouse.com. We are the data controller for the small amount of personal data described below. There is no login, no account and no membership on this site, which is why the list is short.
What we collect
| Type | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Your cookie choice | Stored in your own browser so the notice does not reappear on every page. | Until you clear your browser storage |
| Aggregate visit counts | Which pages get read and roughly where readers arrive from, so we know which comparisons are worth expanding. | Reported in aggregate only |
| Server logs | Standard hosting records, including IP address, created automatically when any page is requested. | A short retention period set by the host |
| Emails you send us | To answer your question and, where relevant, to record the correction we made. | As long as the matter is live, then deleted |
What we do not collect
No name, address or date of birth. No payment information of any kind — we never take money from readers and have nowhere to put such details. No gambling history, because we do not operate a single game. No profile is built about you, and nothing we hold is sold, rented or traded.
Leaving this site
Links to operators carry a tracking parameter so the operator's affiliate system can attribute the visit. From the moment you land on their site, their privacy policy applies and ours does not. Anything you enter during registration — identity documents, contact details, payment information — goes to the operator alone and is never visible to us. We receive commission reports, and those reports contain totals rather than people.
Legal bases
- Legitimate interests for aggregate analytics and for keeping the site running securely.
- Consent for any non-essential cookie, given or refused through the notice and reversible at any time.
- Legitimate interests for answering correspondence you choose to send us.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to processing, or ask for a copy. Given how little exists, most requests are answered in a sentence. Write to privacy@chiproutehouse.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with our answer, the Information Commissioner's Office is the UK supervisory authority and takes complaints directly at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is intended for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect anything about anyone younger, and no part of it is designed to appeal to under-18s.
Changes
When this policy changes the review date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in that line rather than slipped in quietly.
